Welcome to the Timmins Family Violence Interagency Action Committee’s website
The Timmins Family Violence Interagency Action Committee (TFVIAC), funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services, is an ad hoc coordinating committee whose mandate is to enhance the capacity of member organizations in Timmins to better respond to the needs of women and children experiencing violence. The committee consists of human services agencies and law representatives who work together towards ending violence against women and their children in the community.
The TFVIAC members ensure there are appropriate linkages between services, work collaboratively to effectively coordinate services, raise awareness around issues of family violence and provide a forum for information-sharing and problem-solving.
The TFVIAC meet regularly to establish protocols to ensure a seamless delivery of services to all women and their children who experience violence. The TFVIAC recognizes that everyone has a role to play when it comes to ending violence against women and children. Increasing the safety and wellbeing for all women and their children is the TFVIAC's main priority.
The TFVIAC Abuse Shatters Lives website has been created to assist women and their children connect to appropriate resources to help meet their needs.
